Amgen Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Laboratory

Rowse Architects was the Executive Architect for this multi-faceted pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Amgen, Inc uses next-generation biomanufacturing capabilities to manufacture products for the U.S. and global markets.

RA provided the master plan for this facility, which included 96 acres of site development and over a million square feet of buildings. We coordinated and supervised the design of other A/E firms to ensure compliance with the approved master plan.

RA designed the 100,000 square foot Quality Assurance Laboratory building for the facility.  A multi-building campus, the Amgen facility contains state-of-the-art pharmaceutical labs, data systems and automated building HVAC control systems. Rowse provided all quality insurance on the project.

The project was executed in a fast-track mode (33 months conceptual design through to mechanical completion) with extensive use of modularisation and off-site fabrication.
