Johnson & Wales University, Snowden Hall I & II
This project involved the new construction of a seven-story, 482-bed dormitory for Johnson & Wales University students, located in the heart of downtown Providence, Rhode Island.
The building was designed to foster a vibrant student community, with a range of living accommodations that include doubles, triples, and quads, all featuring in-unit showers for added convenience. Each floor is equipped with a common room and laundry facility, offering students spaces for both social interaction and daily necessities right within their living quarters.
At the core of the dormitory's amenities is an expansive 11,000-square-foot kitchen and dining facility that serves both the dormitory residents and the larger university population, making it a central hub of activity. The entire facility spans 134,000 square feet and is situated on the university’s quadrangle in Providence’s historic district, offering students the unique experience of living in a high-rise hall surrounded by the architectural heritage of the city.
